Carrol Boyes — Terms & Conditions

These UK Terms & Conditions apply to purchases made by customers in the United Kingdom and to deliveries to UK addresses. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights.

Sales & Availability of Stock

All orders are subject to availability and confirmation of the order price. We’ll confirm acceptance by email once your order is placed, placing items in your basket or wish list doesn’t reserve stock.

Pricing

Prices for UK delivery are shown in GBP and include VAT. If we discover a pricing or availability error, we’ll contact you to give you the option to reconfirm at the correct price or cancel for a full refund. This clause operates in line with your statutory rights.

Delivery Policy

Please see our Delivery & Returns page for charges and timeframes. Title to goods passes upon full payment, risk passes on delivery to the address/person you provide. If you’re not available and the parcel is returned to us after 3 reasonable attempts, we may refund the order less courier costs. (Furniture lead times apply as stated.)

Returns & Cancellations

Online orders — Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013

  • You have 14 days from the day after delivery to cancel for any reason. You then have a further 14 days to send the goods back.
  • If you cancel, we’ll refund you within 14 days of receiving the goods, including the standard outbound delivery cost you paid.
  • For change of mind cancellations, you’ll pay the return postage if we told you this up front.
  • You may handle items to check their nature, characteristics and functioning. If handling goes beyond this, we may deduct for diminished value.

Faulty or not as described — Consumer Rights Act 2015

  • You have a 30 day short-term right to reject faulty goods for a full refund.
  • After 30 days, you’re entitled to a repair or replacement in the first instance, then a price reduction or final right to reject if the issue isn’t resolved.
  • We cover all return costs for faulty/incorrect items.

Age-Restricted Items

Where products are age-restricted (e.g: knives/bladed products), it is illegal to sell to under-18s. We operate strict age verification at purchase and on delivery. The purchaser or named recipient must present valid, government-issued photo ID that matches the name/details provided at checkout. Couriers may refuse delivery without acceptable ID, and we may cancel orders where age cannot be verified. (Implemented under the Offensive Weapons Act 2019 and statutory guidance.)

Gift Voucher Terms

  • Gift Vouchers expire 36 months from purchase.
  • Lost/stolen vouchers won’t be replaced -please treat vouchers like cash.
  • Vouchers are not exchangeable for cash.
  • Vouchers may be redeemed against products of a higher value with payment of the difference.
  • All vouchers are subject to verification at the time of redemption.
  • If purchased online: the purchaser has a 14-day cancellation right if the voucher hasn’t been used - we’ll refund within 14 days of cancellation. Key terms (expiry, no cash refund, no replacement) are displayed at purchase and on the voucher.

Promotions / Promotional Codes

Promotional codes are non-transferable, not redeemable for cash and may have category and time restrictions which will be clear at the point of offer. Where items bought with a promo code are returned, refunds are made against the amount paid after discount.

Privacy (UK GDPR) & Cookies (PECR)

We process personal data in accordance with the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018. You have rights including access, rectification, erasure, objection to marketing and portability. Our Privacy Notice explains the lawful bases we rely on, retention periods and who we share data with.

We use cookies per the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR). Where required, we obtain prior consent for non-essential cookies and provide clear information on their purpose; you can withdraw consent at any time. See our Privacy Notice and Cookie Policy for details.

Website Use / Intellectual Property

All site content is owned by or licensed to us and is protected by intellectual-property laws. You must not copy, distribute, or use our trademarks without permission. Reasonable linking is permitted, framing or scraping is not.

Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law. Subject to that, we’re not liable for losses that were not foreseeable to both parties or for business losses. Your statutory rights remain unaffected (Consumer Rights Act 2015).

Events Outside Our Control

If a failure to perform or delay results from events outside our reasonable control (e.g., courier disruptions), we’ll contact you promptly, take reasonable steps to minimise delay and provide revised delivery options or a right to cancel where appropriate.

Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These terms and any disputes or claims (including non-contractual disputes) are governed by the laws of England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction. If you reside elsewhere in the UK, you may bring proceedings in your home jurisdiction. Mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence still apply.

Complaints & ADR

If you have a complaint, please contact customercare@carrolboyes.com. We’ll aim to resolve issues within a reasonable timeframe. We’re not obliged to use ADR but will inform you of approved ADR providers if we cannot resolve your complaint. (Post-Brexit EU ODR does not apply to UK traders.)

Your statutory rights are not affected.
